Early vision, evolving plan.

One of the most exciting parts of custom home building is realizing what’s possible. For this family, an initial renovation evolved into a full reimagining of the property. In collaboration with architect CJ Aker of Akertect Design, the evolution enhanced the home’s footprint and architectural presence.

Balanced by design.

Shifting the plan allowed the main home to grow while remaining appropriate to the lot and its surroundings. The proportions are deliberate, the scale measured, and the home sits comfortably within the streetscape.
A newly built carriage house now sits at the back of the property. Integrated rather than secondary, it gives the backyard architectural definition and helps shape the overall composition.

Defined by the details.

From the moment you enter, it’s clear that nothing was chosen casually. The marble fireplace draws the eye without overwhelming the room. Custom built-ins introduce depth and function, while materials repeat in subtle ways to create continuity throughout the home.

Gas lanterns cast a warm glow in the evening. Brick detailing in the mudroom echoes the exterior. The lower level includes a dedicated gym and a putting green.

A backdrop for gathering.

The kitchen looks directly toward the backyard, where a full pool anchors the outdoor space. Positioned to serve as both focal point and gathering place, it connects seamlessly to the interior. The carriage house provides a structured backdrop, giving the entire yard a sense of intention.
